When I started playing golf regularly about 4 summers ago I was a hack, 18 handicap, driver would go 200 yards in the wrong direction but I’d always hit that 1 shot that kept me coming back.
After playing baseball all through college I didn’t desire to play softball or anything even closely related to Men’s league baseball. So, I found my way very fortunately through work into golfing. It’s the closest internal competition I’ve found that was anything like baseball, just you vs the pitcher, and golf, just you vs the course. The ups and downs, shot to shot, can be mind numbing.
As with work and life I’m extremely goal oriented, so for the last 3 years I’ve included subsidiary goals related to golf in my annual business/life planning. Finally, starting to see all of the practice, time and effort come to fruition this weekend with a Club Championship for Gross Stroke Play, albeit the B flight (5-10 handicaps) I’m so grateful.
Honestly, never thought I’d be a country club guy when I was growing up it was never something I was exposed to, but here we are! Hoping the hard-work and practice trickles down to these kiddos so there will be more golf course time in our future!! Okay, back to work now, who wants to buy a house🏠 !!!
