Rates moved upward this week for the first time in over a month despite some decent news from the Fed this week.

Early in the week, we got the Fed Meeting Minutes which showed more members are open to a rate cut sooner rather than later. Most members still want to see inflation come down some before cutting rates but all are agreeing that tariffs will have some negative effect on inflation. How much of a negative effect remains to be seen.

We should get more insight into that next week when we get CPI and PPI data on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rates dropped again this week for the fourth week in a row!

We heard from Fed Chair Jerome Powell who admitted that if it weren't for the tariffs, the Fed would have cut rates at least once by now.

The jobs data we received this week showed signs of a weaker than expected economy which could impact the future of rate cuts as well.

Either way, we are happy to see the declining rates going into the holiday weekend!

Rates have dropped for the THIRD week in a row to the lowest they have been in close to 90 days.

However, we are getting some important data tomorrow from PCE which will tell us more about where inflation is and if the Tariffs have pushed it upward. If we get a favorable number, it's likely that we will get our fourth straight week of lower rates next week.
