Thinking of leaving your fixed deal before it ends? There's usually a charge for it. An early repayment charge, or ERC, is a fee your lender applies if you exit a fixed rate early - normally a percentage of what you still owe, and it often steps down with each year of the deal.
That doesn't automatically mean staying put is the right call. If the saving from a new rate outweighs the charge, moving early can still work out. You just need both numbers in front of you before you decide. Send us the details of your current deal and we'll work out whether it stacks up.
