Mum to Harley, wife to Leon (who holds the fort more than most people realise), and the face behind Platinum Mortgages New Zealand.

My world is a mix of family life, fitness, and finance — building a business while building a family, and helping people navigate some of the biggest financial decisions they’ll ever make.

BNZ is the first of the main banks to cut their 12-month fixed interest rate ahead of next week’s anticipated OCR review. We expect other banks to follow in the coming days.

If you’re buying or refinancing, here’s what you need to know about New Zealand’s DTI rules:

📊 What is DTI?
Your total debt ÷ your total income = DTI ratio

🏦 RBNZ Rules
• Max DTI = 6 for most borrowers
• Only 20% of lending can go over that
• Investor lending allowed up to DTI 7 (20% cap)

✅ Exemptions Apply
• Refinances
• Bridging loans

• Portability
