This is exactly why I called it Denver Mortgage Lounge.

The word “lounge” has always been a metaphor for how I want the mortgage experience to feel.

Think about sitting in a comfortable lounge, enjoying a cocktail and having a real conversation. You aren’t being rushed. You can settle in, ask questions, think through the answers and leave understanding more than when you arrived.

Today I met separately with two different couples. Each conversation lasted about an hour.

Lots of questions. Lots of answers.

We discussed their goals, how the financing works, the options available and the tradeoffs involved. Both couples left feeling educated, clear about their next steps and genuinely appreciative.

That is the “Lounge” part:

Relaxed. Unhurried. Conversational. Every question welcome.

Mortgage decisions are serious. The experience doesn’t have to feel intimidating.

Accessing your home’s equity does not necessarily mean replacing your current first mortgage.

A HELOC may provide a separate line of credit while allowing the existing mortgage to remain in place. It can potentially be used for home improvements, a large planned expense, consolidating certain debts or creating additional financial flexibility.

However, most HELOCs have variable rates. The payment, repayment period and total cost should all be considered before moving forward.

Meet the senior leadership team.

Tank serves as Chief Treat Officer and Head of Security.

Bear is the Director of Chaos and Special Projects.

Their management philosophy is simple: meetings should be short, snacks should be frequent, and nobody should ever be more than three minutes late for dinner.

They occasionally let me believe I’m in charge.
