Yesterday we had another beautiful Ladies Long Lunch 😊

Last week two of my clients flew down to Christchurch to catch up with whānau and friends. That included me 😊

These lovely clients were originally referred to me by one of my awesome networkers who has since become a good friend. The power of a great network right.

We caught up over lunch and had a really good chat about life and about one of the claims I recently helped them through.

A big part of my role as an adviser is putting the right policy in place. For some people that can feel like the hardest part because there are lots of questions during the application process. But for me the most important part is what happens after the policy is in place.

Looking after a policy throughout its life means building a real relationship with my clients. It means keeping communication open and making sure they trust me enough to call when life throws something unexpected their way.

When that call comes in, I roll my sleeves up and get to work helping guide them through the claims process. We are with our clients every step of the way.

Sometimes claims come during incredibly tough times and we do our best to support our clients and their loved ones through it.

In this case it was a living claim. It was a tough process at times but we achieved the best possible outcome for my client 💪

This is exactly why I love what I do.

This Thursday a few of us caught up over a long lunch.

Yes, you can have lunch, connect, and then head back to the office to carry on with work and admin later. That’s the reality of running your own business.

Being a business owner can be tough in many ways, but having an incredible team, my whānau, and the support of my network around me means the world.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Katie and I so far. ❤️ We truly appreciate it.

We’re gearing up for an awesome year ahead and we absolutely love what we do. Looking after our clients and being there when it matters most is why we do this, and we’re lucky to work with some amazing people. We only work with the best.

Today Leigh and I shut the laptops and headed to Hanmer Springs for a quad bike and buggy adventure and it did not disappoint.

The views were absolutely incredible. Rolling farmland, fresh country air, and plenty of puddles and little rivers to splash through after all the recent rain.

We did not come home completely covered in mud but there was definitely mud flicked here and there. Just enough to feel adventurous without needing a full hose down.

And yes, I may or may not have got one of the quads stuck and needed a little assistance getting it out 😂 character building right.

Today was a big day 😁

Today I had Flynn come to work with me.

He rode shotgun, picked the music and kept me company through a full day of work. Some of the tunes were great… some not so much 😂

Flynn jumped in where he could, asked plenty of questions and took his role as the unofficial all rounder pretty seriously. Lunchtime was still the clear highlight 😂😂

Having kids doesn’t mean putting your dreams or goals on hold. It means letting them see the journey, the work that goes on behind the scenes and what’s possible when everyone’s on the same page.

It’s been a big year already and it’s only the end of January 2026.

Today was a real reminder of what being a parent and a business owner actually looks like. Flynn came to work with me and we smashed out paperwork, meetings and plenty of phone calls. He keeps me on my toes, but he’s a good boy and such a big help 💙

Some days are hard. You’re juggling responsibilities, deadlines and people who rely on you, both at work and at home. You keep showing up, adjusting, learning and doing the best you can. This afternoon we got the thumbs up from Anna, so we chose to step away, slow down and head to the driving range. We’re not the best 😂 but time together always wins.

To every parent building a business and carrying a lot behind the scenes, keep going. Work hard, slow down when you need to, and never forget your WHY.
