The first phase of the improvements to Titchfield Park, Kirkby, have now started
The Kirkby Neighbourhood Board approved plans to create a sports hub at Titchfield Park, similar to plans currently underway at Kingsway Park. As part of the project, the first phase of works will bring the netball courts up to a high standard.
The courts will be resurfaced and coloured, and new adjustable energy efficient lighting – that can be dimmed and controlled to light different courts individually – and new fencing will be installed.
We submitted a planning application in August for the construction of a new changing pavilion to replace the current facility which has reached end of life. The proposals include an accessible ramp, an accessible toilet and shower room, two changing rooms, showers, kitchen facilities and a meeting space.
The Titchfield Park Sports Hub project will see over £600k invested into the park, paying for upgrading the existing netball courts with new surfacing and energy efficient floodlights, resurfacing the footpaths, and the new changing rooms.
Most of the funding is coming from a portion of Kirkby’s £20million Pride in Place Fund, as approved by the Kirkby Neighbourhood Board.
