After 20 years in this job, it’s still incredibly rewarding to know you’ve helped someone secure a new home — especially when they are dealing with difficult life circumstances and personal challenges along the way.
Two recent completions over the last week have felt particularly special.
One client had to change properties THREE times after we had already secured mortgage offer acceptance. The move was driven by the ill health of parents, which understandably made an already stressful process even harder.
At one stage, the client even had to move into a static home and incurred an early redemption charge in the process.
Thankfully, they are now settled into their new home, and I was also able to arrange for that charge to be refunded.
The second case involved a dream home move, but again came with external pressures including parental ill health, plus a difficult and staggered upper chain with conflicting information coming from the agents involved. Despite all of the challenges, they finally received the keys last week.
Moments like these are a reminder that this job is about far more than just arranging a mortgage. We understand the emotional and personal factors involved, which is why we always try to go above and beyond — supporting our clients throughout the entire journey, not just the finance side of things.
