🏑A Joint Borrower Sole Proprietor (JBSP) Mortgage! 🏑

What is it?❓
πŸ’‘ Where multiple persons go on the mortgage application and become liable for the payments, however, a sole person only is registered on the title deeds as the owner.

Why would some people need to use it?❓
πŸ’‘Many examples can be used here but a simple one would be, a first time buyer with not enough income to borrow what is required for their new home , therefore a family member can go on the mortgage with them, however only the first time buyer being on the deeds means no additional SDLT (stamp duty land tax) for the joint borrower if they already own as they will not own it.

*Independent legal advice required for most lenders. Both incomes and commitments are considered for all parties in the mortgage application. full criteria, affordability checks and research would need to be taken *
