The Government has announced Your First Home, a new equity loan scheme designed to help eligible first-time buyers purchase new-build homes in England.

The scheme is expected to open for applications in February 2027, with further details on eligibility and participating lenders and developers still to be confirmed.

🏡 A potentially significant step forward for first-time buyers.

The Government has announced plans for Your First Home — a proposed equity-loan scheme designed to help eligible first-time buyers purchase new-build homes in England.

The scheme is expected to include:

🔑 A deposit from as little as 2.5%
🏗️ A 20% government-backed equity loan
💷 An initial interest-free period
🏠 Eligible homes from participating developers

Final eligibility criteria, property price caps, costs and launch dates are still to be confirmed at the next Budget, and applications are not yet open.

We’ll continue to monitor the announcement and share further updates as soon as the details are confirmed.
