Massage, gym memberships and personal training aren't NDIS therapy. Here's what the NDIS can fund. 👇

✅ Occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy, psychology
✅ Exercise physiology, podiatry, dietary support, audiology, counselling, social work, art and music therapy, and more

❌ Alternative and complementary therapies
❌ Massage, personal training, gym or pool memberships
❌ Animal therapy, wellness and coaching therapies

Therapy funding sits in Improved Daily Living Skills as a stated support, so it can only be spent on therapy.

Plan-managed? Price limits apply. For example, the 2026–27 national maximum for an occupational therapist is $193.99 an hour.

Planning a break before the holidays? Here's what NDIS short-term accommodation (STA) can and can't pay for. 👇

✅ Support with everyday activities during your stay
✅ Standard accommodation: hotel, motel, cabin, cottage, hostel or respite accommodation
✅ Usually up to 28 days a year, up to 14 days at a time

❌ Holidays, cruises, airfares
❌ Meals and food
❌ Activities, tickets and entry fees

Under the NDIS Pricing Schedule effective 24 September 2026, STA is priced in two parts: hourly support, plus a daily accommodation amount (up to $162.85 a day, national rate).

Worried you'll lose your long-time support worker when NDIS registration becomes mandatory? You're not alone. Here's what's official so far. 💛

Nothing changes today.

From 1 July 2027, expanded mandatory registration starts rolling out for providers of higher-risk supports, like personal care, daily living supports and supports provided in closed settings. It's phased in, with all providers in scope to be registered by December 2030. (Source: Department of Health, Disability and Ageing timeline.)

If you get these higher-risk supports, you'll need to choose a registered provider for them. You'll still be able to choose unregistered providers for other, lower-risk supports. (Source: Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, "About the changes to the NDIS".)

What you can do now:
1️⃣ If your worker helps with personal care or daily living, have an early, kind conversation about their plans. They may register, or work through a registered provider.
2️⃣ The detailed rules are still being finalised. The government says it will publish a list of the supports it considers higher-risk. Be wary of anyone who claims to know exactly what will happen.
3️⃣ Keep an eye on official updates from the NDIA and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

With plan management, you can keep paying the providers you choose and keep track of your budgets. Our No-Chase Standard: valid, correctly submitted invoices are processed within 1 to 2 business days.

Will your leftover NDIS funds carry over to your next plan? From 1 February 2027, the answer changes. Here's what's official. 💛

From 1 February 2027, as plans reach their scheduled reassessment dates, a renewed plan will be created, and unspent funds from the previous plan won't be carried over. (Source: Department of Health, Disability and Ageing timeline.)

Plan renewals will replace "plan continuations". Right now, when a plan is continued, any unspent funding stays in that plan. That's the part that's changing. (Source: NDIS website.)

What isn't changing: inside the same plan, if you don't use all your funding in one funding period, it rolls over into the next funding period. Funding periods are usually 3 months. (Source: NDIS website, "What is NDIS funding".)

What you can do now:
1️⃣ Check your plan for your reassessment date, and your funding period dates and amounts.
2️⃣ Keep an eye on what's left in each budget every funding period, so there's no big surprise at the end of your plan.
3️⃣ This isn't a reason to rush your spending. Supports still need to be reasonable and necessary, and in line with your plan.

With plan management, we help you keep track of what's left in each budget. Our No-Chase Standard: valid, correctly submitted invoices are processed within 1 to 2 business days.

Heard unregistered NDIS providers' prices are dropping 10% in January? It's not decided. 👇

The NDIA's annual pricing review for 2026–27 prices recommended:
📉 a 10% lower price limit for social, community and civic participation supports from unregistered providers, from 1 January 2027
➡️ no price change for registered providers

Where it stands (23 October 2026):
✔️ The Government has consulted on it. That consultation closed on 30 September 2026.
✔️ Today's NDIS Pricing Schedule has no separate price for unregistered providers.
✔️ NDIS price limits don't apply to self-managed funding.

Nothing changes today. Check which of your providers are registered, and watch for official updates.

Just got a smaller NDIS plan? Here's how to make it last. 💛

Since 1 October 2026, new and reassessed plans include the funding reset. If yours has just arrived, here are six practical steps:

1️⃣ Know what's in each budget. Check how much is in each support budget, what you've spent and what's left.
2️⃣ Pace your spending. Compare what you've spent with how much of your plan has passed. A steady weekly amount helps your funding last.
3️⃣ Talk to your providers about your new budget. The Department says you can keep working with your providers on how to use your budget and get the most out of your supports.
4️⃣ Spend on what you need, not to use it up. Supports still need to be reasonable and necessary, and in line with your plan.
5️⃣ If your needs or circumstances change in a significant and ongoing way, you can ask the NDIS to change your plan.
6️⃣ Let your plan manager track it with you. Our portal sends low-funding alerts, and valid, correctly submitted invoices are processed within 1 to 2 business days.

Good to know: your new plan tells you how much your social, economic and community participation and improved daily living skills funding went down. The Department also says the change won't necessarily mean spending 50 or 10 per cent less, because you may not be using all of your budget now.

Found a provider you love who isn't NDIS registered? Here's when your plan can pay them. 👇

✅ Plan-managed: registered or unregistered providers (the NDIA's words)
✅ Self-managed: registered or unregistered
❌ NDIA-managed: registered providers only

Two catches:
1️⃣ Plan-managed funding still has to stay within the NDIS price limits.
2️⃣ Some supports need a registered provider, like supported independent living (SIL), specialist disability accommodation (SDA) and behaviour support.

And watch this space: the NDIA has recommended lower prices for some community participation supports from unregistered providers from 1 January 2027. On 24 September 2026 the Government said it was consulting. Nothing is decided.

Your NDIS plan has just been approved. Now what? 👇

The NDIA offers a plan implementation meeting to help you start using your plan. It's optional. If you want one, the NDIA says it will make a time within 7 days of your plan being approved.

Questions worth taking:
✅ What NDIS supports can I buy with my funding?
✅ When do I need to use a registered provider?
✅ How are my supports paid for?
✅ Which of my budgets are plan-managed?

Support coordinators: this one's made to share with participants before the meeting.

Going into hospital with an NDIS plan? Do this first. 🏥

✔️ Tell the hospital staff you're an NDIS participant. With your consent, they'll let the NDIA know
✔️ Or call the NDIA on 1800 800 110
✔️ Give your care plan to the hospital staff so they know what you need

While you're in hospital, hospital staff look after your care. The NDIA says you generally can't use NDIS funding to pay your usual support worker there, except for a complex communication need or managing behaviours of concern.

If your needs change, a specialised NDIA planner works with you, and your support coordinator can be part of planning your trip home.

Who to tell, who pays for what, and getting home 👇
