ed a love for numbers and finance! Terry grew up locally in Southern California, specifically in West Hills. He attended El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills and continued his studies at the local university. He attended California State University Northridge and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration Finance. Trying to keep his age in check, he likes to look at himself as a rookie that has vast experience. Fortunately and unfortunately for Terry, he is considered a seasoned veteran by his peers and many local Realtors and other business partners. Even though Terry’s 25 years of experience in mortgage lending is quite an accomplishment, he remains humble. Terry comments, “Even in this current mortgage credit market debacle, we have to continually look for ways to educate ourselves to stay on top of the ever-changing environment. The day I am done learning is the day I need to get out of this business!” It is obvious that one of the pillars of Terry’s success is his innate ability to help people accomplish mortgage goals through continuously being a student. And by continually learning, he will continually teach! Terry has aligned himself with the best mortgage company on the planet! The company he chose to get started “hands on” with was Southland Financial in December of 1990. Southland Financial merged with Golden Empire Mortgage/ GEM Mortgage in June 1996. He has been with Golden Empire Mortgage ever since. Although many mortgage professionals choose to move from company to company, Terry maintains deep roots within his organization. He has retained his “top 20” status within his Company for well over the past 15 years. He boasts, “The grass isn’t really any greener on the other side. The grass is greener where you take care of it and water it. And have the best possible staff that you consider family!” GEM’s philosophy, as is Terry’s, is simple: We are mortgage professionals and debt strategists.
