I sat in on an informational session with the head appraiser at Williamson County Tax Appraisals (Last April and never posted this video- info still valid!) I'm sharing key takeaways to help you understand your tax bills. We discuss why you don't always need to protest your taxes every year, how the homestead cap works, why bringing estimates (rather than pictures) is more effective when protesting, and the May 15th deadline for filing protests through the Williamson County CAD website. I also explain how protesting won't help lower your taxes in future years if you have a homestead cap.
