Arlington/Roe Managing General Agent/Wholesale Insurance Broker Arlington/Roe was founded in 1964 by Francis Roe, father of current President and owner, James A. James A.

Roe, and is respected nationwide as a Managing General Agent and Excess & Surplus Lines Broker. Started initially as a general agent for mobile home and recreational vehicle insurance, Arlington/Roe has since expanded to include other Specialty Personal Lines, Commercial Property and Liability (Underwriting and Brokerage), Commercial Auto/Transportation, Aviation, Bonds, Professional Liability, Workers Compensation, and Medical Professional. For over 40 years as a Wholesaler, Arlington/Roe has been offering professional expertise, access to specialty and E&S markets, and provided our agency and company partners with stability in changing markets. Our staff of 120+ individuals brings their combined experience using techniques of frequent triage sessions and constant communication to underwrite and market complex insurance transactions. Close to half of our staff either has a professional designation or is working towards a designation. Arlington/Roe is a leader in the wholesale insurance community with active involvement in the American Association of Managing General Agents (AAMGA), National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices (NAPSLO), Aviation Insurance Association (AIA), Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), CPCU, Society of CIC, National Association of Insurance Women, Independent Insurance Agents Association (BIG I), Professional Insurance Agents Association (PIA), and other industry organizations. Roe was President of the American Association of Managing General Agents, 1999-2000. Arlington/Roe is now a third-generation family business Jim Roe's oldest son, Andy, is a Vice President and manager of the Commercial Lines Underwriting Division; Patrick, Jim's 2nd oldest son, is also a Vice President and is Arlington/Roe's Director of Marketing primarily responsible for business development.

We’re excited to announce that our very own Jennie Carr, Vice President, Brokerage, has recently been interviewed by Insurance Business America, sharing her thoughts on the relationships between whole insurance and technology advancements! As artificial intelligence takes on more of the administrative load inside excess and surplus brokerages, Jennie argues the more pressing problem isn't resistance to new tools – it's getting a fragmented industry to use them together.

Jennie dives into why fragmentation, not resistance, is the real obstacle and how redesigning work around what technology frees up instead of adopting more of it is the true advantage. We had a great time at the Nautilus Insurance Agency Encounter event in Frankenmuth, MI! ⛵🌊

Heather Finotti, Holly Vliet and Erika Robbins enjoyed a beautiful day on the river with a boat tour and chocolate tastings, followed by a delicious dinner at Zehnder’s Restaurant with Nautilus Underwriter, Becky Fletcher.

Pam Jewel and Aimi Kunesh had the absolute pleasure to attend the IIAW Women in LeadHERship Conference in Madison, Wisconsin! They joined fellow insurance professionals for a day of connection, learning and leadership at the beautiful Olbrich Botanical Gardens! 🌼🧺🌿

The day was filled with meaningful conversations, networking, industry insights and plenty of opportunities to connect with women across Wisconsin’s independent insurance community. From an executive panel to a little networking “speed dating,” the conference offered plenty of ways to inspire and excel professionally.

Spicing things up with an office chili cook-off!🌶️🍲

Our Indianapolis office brought the heat (and some seriously delicious chili) for a fun afternoon of tasting, voting and a little friendly competition! From family recipes to creative twists, there was no shortage of flavor. 🔥
