π£ eHealth research is making headlines again.
Today, Politico featured new eHealth findings that reveal a surprising gap between Medicare confidence and actual understanding.
While most Medicare beneficiaries say they feel confident about their understanding of the program, only 13% could accurately define its main coverage options.
The study also found that most people already enrolled in Medicare β and those approaching eligibility β are unaware of cost-sharing requirements under Original Medicare, potentially leaving them financially exposed if they need medical care.
As eHealth CEO Derrick Duke explained, "Consumer confidence doesn't always translate into actual understanding."
With the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period approaching, these findings highlight the need for additional education and guidance to support improved decision making.
