Yes, you can apply for a mortgage online by yourself. You can also Google your symptoms and diagnose yourself—but I wouldn’t recommend either.

A mortgage is more than filling out an application. The right guidance can help you understand your options, avoid costly mistakes, and choose financing that truly fits your goals.

Technology makes applying easier. Experience helps you make the right decisions.

Have mortgage questions? We’re always happy to help.

And yes… we promise to keep the mortgage process from getting too cheesy.

My payment went up—but I have a fixed-rate mortgage!

We hear this more often than you’d think.

A fixed interest rate only locks in your principal and interest payment. Your total monthly payment can still change if:

✔️ Property taxes increase
✔️ Homeowners insurance changes
✔️ Your escrow account is adjusted
✔️ Other fees are added or removed

Understanding these five numbers on your mortgage statement can help you quickly identify why your payment changed.

Have questions about your statement? We are always happy to help.

The house is what makes people fall in love. The financing is what helps make that dream possible.

A strong loan strategy can make all the difference when you’re buying a home, especially in a competitive market.

If you’re thinking about buying, let’s build your confidence before you start writing offers.

🏡 Mortgage Minute: Appraisals Are Changing

Big changes are coming to the appraisal process, and they could impact both buyers and sellers.

Beginning November 2, 2026, new appraisal reporting requirements will introduce a more standardized format designed to improve consistency and data quality.

What does this mean for you?

✔️ Sellers: Be sure your appraiser knows about any upgrades, renovations, or permits.
✔️ Buyers: The appraisal process may look a little different, but the goal is greater accuracy and consistency.
✔️ Realtors: Providing relevant property information upfront can help support a well-informed appraisal.

While the format is changing, the purpose remains the same, providing a fair and accurate opinion of a home’s value.

🎥 Watch Jordan explain what these updates mean and how you can be prepared.

Have questions about appraisals or the home buying process? We’d love to help!

🏡 Mortgage Minute: What Is a Rate & Term Refinance?

Mortgage terms can sound confusing, but they don’t have to be.

A rate & term refinance replaces your current mortgage with a new one to improve the terms of your loan. Depending on your goals, it may help you:

✔️ Lower your interest rate
✔️ Change your loan term (such as from 30 years to 15 years)
✔️ Lower your monthly payment, pay off your loan sooner, or both

Unlike a cash-out refinance, a rate & term refinance does not allow you to take cash from your home’s equity.

Every homeowner’s situation is different, so the best option depends on your goals and finances.

One of the simplest ways to reduce stress as a homeowner? Keep all of your important home documents together in one safe place.

When you need them for refinancing, filing an insurance claim, selling your home, or simply finding a warranty, you’ll be glad everything is organized and easy to find.

A little organization today can save a lot of headaches tomorrow!
