Welcome to my personal page where you can discover the possibilities of making your dreams come true. As a former banker in the Wellington region, I have come to realization that there are a lot more people out there that require personal help when it comes to Mortgages, Insurances or Home Loans in the Wellington and Kapiti Coast Region. So then I have set myself on a journey to become the best and most accessible mortgage broker in the local community of Wellington and the Kapiti Coast, where I not only live myself personally but also strive to bring the best out of my kids and getting involved personally within the community. What I can do for you:
By running constantly live events I encourage further learning and personal education to all of the people whether you are going to be my friend, my customer or just a folk that is looking to do something about your future, these we do not need to spend hours in traffic and Kapiti Coast traffic can be horrific for a matter of fact, and its all done online and at your convenience. If you liked the webinar and want to set up an appointment face to face we can certainly organize that as well anywhere within the Wellington Region or the Kapiti coast or even better we can just zoom through it, the outcome is always the same, you will come out with the sound advice of what you would need to doing next. If you are shy and did not want to attend my webinars you can always join the discussion via email or I can be reached via Direct Messages on FB, Instagram or Whatsapp

What services do I provide:
- Foremost as the Wellington Mortgage broker who is based in the Kapiti Coast I can do the mortgages and the home loans, what does it actually mean? I can deal with any sort of situation and no job is too hard or too complicated I have seen them all and tackled them all as well
- If you have had a decline or a no-no from the local bank in your Wellington Region area its not necessarily that it is a definite decline, far too often I see the situations that something was just missed out or misunderstood, what I do in these situations? is I review what has actually happened and why your mortgage application in the wellington region has been declined and will work out with you a plan on how to get to where you want to be
- If you are looking at purchasing a land and building your own house whether it is in Kapiti Coast or Wellington Region it is also not a problem as I have gone through the process myself several times so I can walk you through what you need to be aware of and what would the next steps in the journey be
- if you have had some credit issues we can also put a plan how we can get you back on track with the right financial advice, mortgages or home loans in the wellington region for the purposes of achieving your yet another goal

Besides the mortgages and the home loans I can also deal with the biggest elephant in the room which is the protecting your biggest asset - YOU

I am here to review and arrange insurances that will suit your personal requirement at this point of time. Insurances that I provide advice on;
Life - this is pretty simple and straight forward, if you are not here, your loved ones will still be protected and financially secure for a short period of time, giving the recent situation not only in Wellington or Kapiti Region or even New Zealand but the whole world it may be a time to review and get a proper advice on what you are or not covered
Trauma - one of the biggest misconceptions that is coming from the people living not only in the wellington region but also new zealand as general is that ACC will provide the cover for everything and foot the bill whenever something happens to you, unfortunately heart attack or diabetes are not classed as accidents meaning that you will end up in the wellington hospital queue waiting for your time to be seen or not seen for the next few hours, to get more understanding of what the trauma is and how it should be covered we can certainly discuss this option with you in Wellington Region or Kapiti Coast
Income Cover - there are several options in the Income cover and can also provide you with a security if you are one of those unfortunate folks that may end up on the short list of being cut off the job in the Wellington Region or the Kapiti coast, so what it could give you is the temporary income to cover those ongoing bills no matter the weather
Health Insurance - just as the Trauma cover what the basic health insurance will do is take you in front of the queue of the private hospitals in the Wellington Region or best hospitals around the country, if there are no specialists for your situation then you may end up seeing someone from overseas, ofcourse it wont work at the moment but generally speaking it is already better than those long hours in the queue to get your heart operation
Business Insurance - business insurance has a whole heap of various covers in the wellington region is quite an important insurance to have as well as the public liability you would also need to think about the continuation of the business
all of the other insurances in place that you can have a look and discuss with me in the wellington region or kapiti coast as mortgage advisor
Home/Contents/Vehicle Insurance, Pet Insurance, AIRBNB Insurance, Commercial Insurance,

I'm still a little surprised to be sharing this.

I've made the NZ Top Advisers 2026 list.

Honestly, most days are just about showing up, doing the work and trying to help people the best I can. Recognition like this isn't something I set out for, so it feels a bit strange, but also very humbling, to have it noticed.

Congratulations to all the other advisers named on the list this year. It's a real privilege to stand alongside so many people doing excellent work for their clients across the industry. Thank you also to NZ Adviser and Financial Advice New Zealand for the work you do supporting and championing our profession.

None of this happens on my own. It belongs just as much to my clients, who put their trust in me, and to my team, who show up and do the hard work every day. I'm also grateful to the Mike Pero Mortgages head office team for the systems, support and backing that make this work possible. I'm just grateful to be part of it.

Thank you.
Zebunisso ❤️

You can be standing right next to someone who’s falling apart and never know it.

We’re all busy. We’re distracted. We’re looking at our phones, getting through the day, asking someone “How are you?” and moving on when they say “I’m fine.”

But what if we’re missing the signs?

That was one of the things I kept thinking about after talking with Carolyn Tamm.

With 25 years of social work experience, Carolyn has seen how complicated mental health can become when people are trying to navigate systems that don’t always connect the dots.

We talked about childhood trauma, social media, listening properly, what psychosis can actually look like, and the small things that can tell you someone isn’t okay.

And then the conversation took an interesting turn into money.

The way we think about spending, saving, control and even shame can be connected to things that happened much earlier in our lives.

It made me wonder how many things we label as simply “the way someone is” without ever asking why.

What would make you walk away from a solid career and start again from the bottom?

For Elliot Power, it wasn’t just about changing jobs. It was about stepping back, reassessing what mattered, and choosing a completely different direction.

After years in banking, logistics and leadership, Elliot made the decision to take time away from work to focus on his family before retraining for a career in financial advice.

In this episode of That Home Loan Hub, we talk about career changes, raising kids, building trust with younger clients, financial education, AI and what it really takes to start over in your 40s.

I really enjoyed hearing Elliot’s story because it’s a good reminder that sometimes the path that looks like a step backwards can actually be a step towards something that fits your life much better.

Well, here it is… the news Carolyn and I have been wanting to share!

We talk about money all the time.
We talk about our health and wellbeing too.

But how often do we talk about the connection between the two?

That’s something we wanted to explore together.

I’m really looking forward to Your Money, Your Mind: Tools for a Healthier Life — an evening where we’ll look at both financial wellbeing and mental health, and how they can influence the way we feel, think and make decisions in everyday life.

📅 Wednesday, 28 October 2026
🕐 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Team Zebunisso Mike Pero Office, 46 Main Road, Waikanae
🎟️ $35

We’ll have time for questions, a break to connect with others, and plenty of space to have an honest look at both our money and our wellbeing.

If this is something you’ve been thinking about, I’d love to see you there.

What happens when we stop looking at mental health as just an individual issue?

That’s something I got to explore in my conversation with Carolyn Tamm

Carolyn is an educator, speaker and author who looks at mental health, trauma and the systemic gaps in the way people are supported.

What I found really interesting was hearing her perspective on the bigger picture and the things we don’t always think about when we talk about mental health.

There’s a lot to unpack in this conversation, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you.

Carolyn’s episode of That Home Loan Hub is coming soon.

And our podcast conversation isn’t the only thing we’ve got going on with Carolyn... We’ve got some exciting news to share with you tomorrow!

Keep an eye out!

What if being wealthy has less to do with how much money you have… and more to do with how many choices you have?

That question stayed with me after my conversation with Natalie Ferguson on the latest episode of That Home Loan Hub.

Natalie has spent years thinking about money, investing and financial independence – from co-founding Hatch to now building Powrsuit.

But one thing we came back to was the idea that money is a tool.

Not the goal.
Not the scoreboard.
A tool that can give you choices.

We also got into the less talked-about side of money — the shame, comparison and stories we carry around spending and saving, and how those things can quietly influence the decisions we make.

And I loved hearing Natalie’s perspective on what it really means to feel financially free.
Because maybe wealth isn’t about private jets or having more.
Maybe it’s about having the freedom to choose.

Positivity gets a bad rap sometimes.

As if being positive means putting a smile on, looking on the bright side, and pretending the hard stuff isn't happening.

But what if it’s actually about being able to acknowledge the hard stuff — and still find a little bit of beauty, connection or hope?

That’s something Melanie Kerr and I got into on the latest episode of That Home Loan Hub.

Melanie is known as the Positivity Expert, but after hearing about her experiences walking alongside families through loss, I came away with a very different understanding of what positivity can actually look like.

We talked about her “Sprinkle of Sunshine” approach, resilience, emotional intelligence, boundaries, negativity in the workplace, and why sometimes a small moment of connection can mean more than we realise.

It’s not about being positive for the sake of being positive.
It’s about what you choose to do after acknowledging that life can be really hard.

There's a lot that happens before you actually hear the podcast.

The setup, checking everything is working, making sure the sound is right... and then finally sitting down and having the conversation.

And sometimes you have absolutely no idea where that conversation is going to go.

That's probably one of my favourite things about doing That Home Loan Hub.

I get to meet people from all sorts of backgrounds and hear the stories behind what they do, what they've learnt along the way, and the things that have shaped them.

So while this photo might just look like a whole lot of buttons and equipment, there's actually a good conversation waiting to happen on the other side of it.

We've recorded some really good episodes recently, and there are plenty more coming. Some conversations have made me laugh, some have made me think, and a few have definitely made me look at things a little differently.

And I think you're going to enjoy some of the episodes we have coming up.
