A bookkeeper and a VA are not the same thing. Your business actually needs both, but for totally different reasons.
If you are anything like me, you could easily spend your entire life buried in your inbox. I would be losing my mind if it weren't for my incredible VA. But I hear this a lot "Oh, I already have a VA, she handles my bookkeeping too." As much as I love the admin world, I am definitely not a VA.
1. The Daily Operations vs. The Financials: A VA is your master of day-to-day operations and general admin. We focus strictly on the financials, compliance, and reporting.
2. Scheduling vs. Reconciling: A VA can manage your calendar and fill your appointments so you never have to worry about an empty schedule. We are busy reconciling accounts, managing cash flow, and looking at the big picture.
3. Versatility vs. Deep Specialization: A VA is beautifully versatile. They can jump from email management to building out your monthly newsletters. We bring specific financial training, certifications, and years of experience. We know QuickBooks Online inside and out, and we actually enjoy living in the world of debits and credits.
4. The Inbox Savior: A VA can organize your email inbox so you can finally breathe. This one is my absolute favorite!!
You hire a VA when you are overwhelmed by the daily logistics of running your clinic or when you need an extra hand with customer support.
You hire a strategic bookkeeper when you need your finances completely in order, accurate reporting, painless government remittances, and crystal-clear financial records.
Both give you peace of mind, but they play completely different positions on your team to help you scale.
