If you’re self-employed, you’ve probably heard this before:
“Getting a mortgage is harder when you work for yourself.”
And after talking to a lot of clients over the years I get why that feels discouraging.
Maybe your income isn’t the exact same every month.
Maybe you’ve got write-offs.
Maybe your bank looked at your paperwork and made you feel like owning a home is out of reach.
But being self-employed doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.
It just means your finances look a little different than someone with a 9–5 and not every lender knows how to properly work with that.
