After all the long hours, financial pressure and personal sacrifice... Why do small business owners keep doing what they’re doing?

The answer seems to lie in ‘purpose over profit.’ BizCover’s survey of 1,500 business owners found:

😎 85.4% are proud of what they've built.
🥰️ Personal fulfilment was the most rewarding part of running a business.
💰 Only 10.5% said financial reward was the biggest motivation.

“For many business owners, pursuing a passion, maintaining their independence and creating something they can be proud of creates a sense of purpose and fulfillment that exceeds financial gain,” says BizCover GM Bradley Miller.

If a critical security flaw can send government websites offline, imagine the disruption it could cause a small business. 💻🚨

Two critical vulnerabilities were recently discovered in PHP, a coding language used by around 70% of websites where the server-side language can be identified. PHP also powers WordPress, which is used by around 40% of all websites.

Small business owners don’t need to know how PHP works. But they should know who manages their website, whether updates are being applied and what their response plan looks like.

Cyber security is business security. Cyber Liability insurance can provide another layer of protection by helping with certain costs following a covered cyberattack or data breach, including investigations, data recovery and business interruption.
