Big news yesterday with ASIC reporting a number of offset accounts not being linked correctly to loans, now you all just KNOW how excited Bec gets about the savings via an offset account so this one is personally affronting.

What we want you to do is:
1. Log into your internet banking
2. Click on your loan & look for the “info” page
3. Check your offset account is linked, if you can’t immediately tell jump on the phone to the bank and have them confirm it.

Another cross check is most lenders will add a line on your statements “interest saved via offset affect $x”

Whatever you do, this is not reason to pay that other guy buckets to show you how to save interest, any broker will happily do that free.
