There is a specific kind of heartbreak that comes with a rapid cancer diagnosis.
My dad was healthy, strong, active, and full of lifeāuntil he was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. Within just four short months, this aggressive disease took him from us, leaving him bedridden in his final days. Its been 7 years since he left us but the grief is still quite fresh
When you lose someone that quickly, the shock is paralyzing. For over a year, I found myself trapped in the heavy fog of grief, unable to move past the trauma of how quickly he was taken. It felt impossible to reconcile the healthy dad I knew with the reality of how fast he left us.
This year, Iām combining my own birthday with my parentsā wedding anniversary to host a Biggest Morning Tea in memory of my dad to help Cancer Council raise vital funds for people impacted by cancer.
This event is deeply personal to me. It is my way of channeling my heartbreak into something powerful, ensuring that my dadās memory is honored not just with tears, but with action.
Your donation will also importantly help fund support services for the 150,000 individuals who are diagnosed with cancer every year. With support services in higher demand than ever, your help now is particularly vital.
Please donate and letās together help Australia take big steps towards a cancer free future.
Join me at my Biggest Morning Tea or donate online to help me reach my fundraising goal! Together, we can help Cancer Council raise much needed funds.
