Their front desk was keying every patient payment by hand. Not anymore.

We connected a Detroit-area pulmonary practice’s payments straight into their practice management software. Push the amount to the terminal from the patient’s account, patient picks cash or card price, payment posts on its own. Balances go out as a text link or get charged to a card on file.

If you’re vending this weekend, the thing most likely to cost you money isn’t the weather.

It’s a few thousand people crowding onto the same cell tower as your card reader.

Two back to back:

Detroit Food Truck Festival — Aug 28-30, 10am-5pm, Valade Park on Atwater

Arts, Beats & Eats — Sept 4 through Labor Day, downtown Royal Oak

Nobody wants their technology to be the reason somebody says “never mind” and walks to to the next truck.

Four checks before Friday:

- [ ] Test at peak, not at setup. Full bars at 9am tells you nothing about 2pm.
- [ ] Bring a hotspot on a different carrier than your reader. Have backup payment options ready just in case!
- [ ] Turn offline mode on before you lose bars. Some readers won’t let you switch after.
- [ ] Know your store-and-forward cap — how many offline sales it holds, and the per-swipe limit.

Fifth one, since payments is what we do: if the reader is the weak link and not just the network, a terminal with its own cellular ignores venue WiFi entirely. We’re in Metro Detroit, we stock mobile readers, we work with a lot of food truck vendors, and we can usually set someone up in 1-2 days. Get in touch & we’ll sort it before Labor Day !
