Happy National Small Business Month! 🙌

As we close out May, join us in celebrating and supporting small businesses and what they do for the local economy as the heartbeat of our communities.

We’re proud to spotlight three incredible small businesses that choose to bank with Verity: BRAVE, Bascomb Real Estate Group, and Elerson Law PLLC. We're honored to support these businesses, among many others, that are an essential part of helping our communities thrive.

May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, and we're proud to celebrate the leaders across our community who embody this year's theme: Power in Unity: Strengthening Communities Together. 🧡

Seattle's history is deeply connected to AANHPI communities, whose cultural contributions have shaped the region since the 1860s. We're incredibly grateful for the resilience, leadership, and vision that continue to strengthen the communities we call home.

If you're looking for ways to celebrate, here are a few events still happening across the Seattle area:
- May 22: Taste of Chinatown-International District tour (Wing Luke Museum)
- May 27: Spring Market at the Wing Luke Museum
- Throughout May: Seattle Asian Art Museum Public Tours: Journeys Through Time and Space
- Ongoing: Ai Weiwei (renowned artist and activist) exhibit at Olympic Sculpture Park

All year round, you can also support AANHPI-owned businesses and uplift AANHPI creators across our community!

We’re continuing to celebrate our 2025 Grants for Growth recipients. Next up is BRE Solutions ✨

BRE builds resilient students and communities through wellness, education, and mentorship. Their work bridges generations and supports people who have been historically underrepresented in leadership and personal development spaces. Through healing-centered, culturally responsive programming, both online and in person, BRE strengthens emotional resilience, financial confidence, and community trust.

Founder and CEO Autrina Martindale shared the impact of Verity’s support: “Verity’s way of doing business is standing with the community they serve, side by side. For microbusinesses like ours, especially those led by people from historically overlooked backgrounds, access to fair financial support can feel like a closed door. Verity helped turn that barrier into a pathway, building confidence, opportunity, and long-term stability for people working to make a difference right where they live.”

Follow to learn more about how they are strengthening communities, and stay tuned as Grants for Growth continues to support mission-driven businesses this year.
