I wanted to share a pretty cool stat about women and homeownership.

Historically, women have had different access to financial systems than men. Before the mid-1990s, women had unequal access to property ownership, credit access, or, depending on their state and marital status, their own personal income.

The passage of the Fair Housing Act of 1968 was one of the first federal laws that encouraged fair access for women; it prohibited discrimination in homebuying, homeownership, and rental real estate based on s*x, race, religion, and many other protected classes. Yet, while women had "fair access" to rental and ownership, many still couldn't apply for loans or credit, limiting access to homeownership.

Over the past 30 years, women have steadily increased their presence in the housing market. Today, single women own about 2.64 million more homes than single men in the US.

Let's hear it for all of you women breaking barriers and investing in yourselves and your future!

Most people think that all lenders are the same and it doesn't matter who you use for home loans or refinancing a home loan. That couldn't be further from the truth!

I love being able to take on a transaction that seems like it won't work or has been turned down by another lender, only to figure out options for the buyer.
