I’ve seen just about every side of the residential lending business: I’ve worked as: a mortgage broker, a Senior Deputy Commissioner in the Enforcement Division of the California Department of Real Estate fighting real estate fraud and scammers, for the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) as a Senior Fraud Investigator, as a Branch Operations Manager for Finance of America, as a B

ranch Manager and Mortgage Advisor with Cross Country Mortgage, and now as a Mortgage Advisor with a multi-state brokerage, Clear Capital Mortgage. Through all that experience it has been my personal commitment to serve the consumer. As an investigator that meant I would protect and fight for the consumer. Now, returning to my role as a Mortgage Advisor, it means that I treat every client with honesty and focus on what will benefit them the most in the long term. I strive to not be “salesy” but to talk straight with my clients. I pride myself on being frank (sometimes a little too frank) and not hassling clients with repeated texts, calls and emails. Once I accept a client, I will fight tooth and nail to get them the deal they expect and to protect them from the dangers of our industry. Sometimes when a client’s in trouble, I dust off an old overcoat and step back into the shadows — the world of a fraud investigator. When the deal stops being just paperwork and starts looking like a crime scene, I don’t rest until every loose end is tied and every lie is dragged into the light.

It still gets under my skin when slick operators in this business take good people for a ride. So whenever I get the chance to tip the scales back toward justice, that’s a day’s work worth doing. Five and a half years spent chasing ghosts and grifters with the California Dept of Real Estate and as a Fraud Investigator for Freddie Mac left me with a few tricks up my sleeve — the kind you won’t find in your average lender’s playbook.

Real Estate Financing is what I've settled on when asked what I do for a living. Just saying "mortgages" or "loans" seemed too vague considering the breadth of services I can offer.
