Empire Home Loans - Dustin Lesline

Empire Home Loans - Dustin Lesline Mortgage Specialist since 2002 specializing in loans in California and Nevada. We spend our evenings playing frisbee at the park and our weekends at Dog Beach.

I have been in the mortgage industry since 2002, and I take pride in the number of clients I have had the privilege to work with and help obtain loans for over the years, most of which I’ve worked with numerous times. I strive to find the absolute best loan for every client’s situation and structuring the loan in a manner to get the best solution, whether it’s purchase money, using your home’s equ

ity to pull out cash for debt consolidation or a home remodel, or simply finding the best rate and monthly payment the Market has to offer so that you pay the least amount of interest possible. I do this by educating my clients, and then letting my clients make an educated decision. I am originally from the Kansas City, KS area, and moved to San Diego, CA in 2004, where I have lived since. I got married in 2014 and am the proud dad of Oz, my extraordinarily handsome pitbull/lab mix, which is the 4th pup I’ve rescued in my life. My wife and I love to travel, mostly internationally. We are avid SCUBA divers, and all of our vacations involve blowing bubbles in some exotic local in the world. We have had the privilege of diving on some of the best coral reefs our amazing planet has to offer, and are blessed with the people and culture we’ve been introduced to in our travels. I also thoroughly enjoy the challenge of underwater photography, and being able to bring the beauty of our oceans and reefs to others. I started my career in mortgage finance as a mortgage broker in 2002. I was noticed by several wholesale lenders who offered me positions as an account executive, one of which I accepted in 2004, which brought me to San Diego. In this position I was fortunate to meet hundreds of other loan professionals and was introduced to countless loan programs. Unfortunately, that position came to an end with the Recession, and I subsequently went back into the retail side of mortgage lending with Wells Fargo. I was soon chosen to work in their Loss Mitigation Department, helping borrowers effected by the financial crisis navigate the process of renegotiating their current loan terms in an effort to keep homeowners in their homes. This position really opened my eyes and provided me with a new perspective, the perspective of the Borrower. In 2013 I came back to the lending-side of the Industry, where I have remained since, and have thrived using all my career has taught me to date. Empire Home Loans allows me to be a one-stop-shop, with the ability to shop the Market for the best programs and rates the Industry has to offer. I believe in a point-of-contact style of doing business. You will always speak directly to me during the loan process, and I will always be available after the loan process is completed.

Yesterday saw the average 30yr fixed rate fall back in line with levels from early October, 2024. This happened for two reasons. The broader, underlying reason is that rates have been in a fairly narrow, stable range and that range was already relatively closer to 10 month lows than 10 month highs.....

Despite many headlines, national home values did NOT decline from May to June; there were simply more homes sold at a lower price-point than the previous month, lowering the MEDIAN homes price.
5K more homes were sold month-over-month in the $300k-$400k price range vs. 5K less homes sold from $500k-$1MM.
