City Council will meet tonight, Tuesday, November 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. City Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers at the new City Hall located at 4221 S. Wilson's Creek Blvd (across from Republic High School).

Your feedback will be collected and incorporated into the next version of the plan. There will be two public meetings and two presentations to City Council before it is formally adopted.

Overnight Lane Closure: U.S. Highway 60 at East Hines Street

Motorists should plan for an overnight closure of the eastbound turn lane on U.S. Highway 60 at East Hines Street beginning Monday, November 2nd, at 7 p.m. to allow for utility repairs.

The work is expected to be completed in one night, with the lane reopening the morning of Tuesday, November 3rd. However, the permit allows for overnight closures between November 2nd-7th if additional time is needed due to weather-related delays.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution, reduce speeds, and follow all posted signs and traffic control devices when traveling through the area.

Earlier this week, members of the City of REPUBLIC joined Republic High School students at the Take FLIGHT Conference as community speakers, sharing their experiences and career insights with the next generation of professionals.

Assistant Republic Parks & Recreation Director Brad Stulce presented on careers in local government, City of Republic MO, Fire Department Fire Engineer Hannah Potter discussed the fire service profession, and Communications Coordinator Ashlee Rowen led a session on job application and interview skills.

All three speakers appreciated the opportunity to connect with students and share their unique career paths.

The event was a great example of the City's Regional value in action, which encourages employees to look beyond City limits, challenge the status quo, and help position Republic as a regional leader. By engaging with local students today, City staff are helping prepare the workforce and community leaders of tomorrow.

Wednesday evening, Mayor Eric Franklin and officers from the City of Republic MO, Police Department were honored to attend the Welcome Home rally for the 79 veterans who participated in the final Honor Flight of the Ozarks mission of 2026.

As these veterans returned from their all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., the community gathered to celebrate their service, sacrifice, and legacy.

Thank you to each of our veterans for your commitment to our country. We are grateful for your service today and every day. ❤️💙

BOOgie Bash will take place at J.R. Martin Park tomorrow, Friday, October 23, followed by the Haunted Trail at Brookline Park on Saturday, October 24.

BOOgie Bash is a free event, and no registration is required. Registration for the Haunted Trail can be completed online at recdesk.republicparks.com (under Special Events).

These markings serve as an important reminder that storm drains carry rainwater directly to local streams and waterways, not to a treatment facility.

Keeping storm drains free of:
- Leaves
- Grass clippings
- Trash
- Other debris
helps maintain drainage and supports water quality throughout the community.

It's also important to properly dispose of hazardous materials such as paint, chemicals, and automotive fluids through approved collection or disposal methods rather than allowing them to enter the stormwater system.

Why It Matters:
What enters a storm drain can ultimately affect local waterways.
