The Fahey Bank was founded in 1865, the year the Civil War ended, by Timothy Fahey. He had a general store and added a bank, by painting “The Bank of Ireland” on the wall safe in the store. Tim Fahey built his bank by investing in all who were striving for better. He invested in the farmers in the area by letting them wait until harvest time to pay for the goods from his store. When they came in a

fter harvest to pay him back, they often left their extra funds on deposit with his bank. Today, more than a century and a half later, Fahey Bank continues to serve those who strive for better. Fahey FastPay delivers your pay up to two days sooner than at other banks. Our mobile app is like a full service branch wherever you are, with automatic savings, customized alerts, mobile deposit, and so much more. Fahey eSign lets you sign documents wherever you are and whenever is best for you, 24/7/365, not like other banks that make you go to their branch during their "banker's hours." The Fahey Bank Athlete of the Month program recognizes the hard work and dedication of the many high school students throughout Marion County who strive every day to succeed - not only in athletics, but in life. During the four decades that Fahey has been presenting the award, out of the tens of thousands of students who have been eligible, about seven hundred have earned the award. And out of those seven hundred winners, eight special athletes have been able to achieve the award all four years and become a "Fahey-Four." In 1865 Tim Fahey’s bank started investing in all those who strove for better.

Fahey Bank is proud to serve as a Gold Sponsor of the 5th Annual Marion Technical College Foundation Golf Outing. This year’s event raised over $45,000, the largest total to date, to support student scholarships at Marion Tech.

Marion's support helps create real opportunities for local students and strengthens our community. Thank you to the MTC Foundation for the partnership and for the work you do to expand access to education.

We'll see you next year for the 6th annual golf outing!

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Eva Moran, a three-time Fahey Bank Athlete of the Month honoree. Eva was a 19-year-old student-athlete at the University of Toledo, where she competed as a pole vaulter on the track and field team. A graduate of River Valley High School, Eva’s accomplishments extended beyond athletics. She was recognized for her work ethic, character, and commitment both on and off the field.

We are honored to have recognized Eva through our Athlete of the Month program and to have celebrated her achievements.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with her family, friends, teammates, coaches, and all who knew her during this incredibly difficult time.

Is your student heading to Washington, D.C. this spring? (Shout-out to all the 8th graders out there, enjoy the Smithsonian for us! )

Here's a money tip that'll make the trip easier (and safer) for everyone:
Open a youth bank account so your student can manage their spending money with a debit card instead of cash.

Why? It's secure (no lost wallets full of bills), it's convenient (accepted everywhere), and it's a great learning moment for financial responsibility. Plus, parents can set spending alerts and monitor balances via mobile banking. Peace of mind while they're touring the Capitol!

At Fahey Bank, we make youth accounts simple: no minimums, no monthly fees as long as you enroll in E-Statements, and just safe, smart banking for the next generation.

Ready to get started? Stop by any Fahey branch with your student, or call us at 740-382-8231 to learn more. (Parent/guardian signature required for minors, easy peasy!)

Let's set your student up for success on their D.C. adventure (and beyond).

The January 2026 Fahey Bank Athlete of the Month for Boys is River Valley's Drew Goldberg for Wrestling!
Congratulations, Drew!

Drew Goldberg is a senior wrestler for River Valley High School and a four-year letterman. During the month of January, he won 17 wrestling bouts—14 of them by pin, the highest number of pins on the team for the month—and another by technical pin. He has placed in every tournament the team entered, and he achieved his 100th career win in mid‑January.

Outside of competition, Drew is equally dedicated. Throughout the winter, he helps run the youth wrestling program several nights a week after finishing his own practices. He consistently supports by giving rides to and from practice whenever needed.

Drew is a committed Christian who attends church weekly, where he volunteers his time running the media and sound booth and assisting with their online video game program. He also maintains a job while participating in athletics to help support his family. Drew is a true leader and role model for our team, program, and school.
