Houghton Varsity football traveled to Kingsford to face the Flivers.
Once again, the Houghton Gremlins defense showed up to play. Although the Flivers visited the end zone twice in the first half, the line backing duo of Halonen and Roberts along with the rest of the defense, stifiled the Flivers offense at every turn ending the half 14-0.
The second half was tough sledding for the Gremlins. However, the offense found some traction with Donnelly connecting with Roth for a 25+ yard catch and run play, setting up Solena for a punishing 15 yard run getting the Gremlins near the end zone. Coach Luoma did not squander the opportunity, and dialed up a pass play for Hebert to make a tip toe catch in the end zone for the touchdown.
Unfortunately the Flivers proved too much, and we fell 34-6.
