Another weekend, another hole dug at the beach, and a new adventure on the bikes.

We ventured out to a different beach, rode our bikes to and from church, and even went to bed early because we were so tired from the time spent in the great outdoors.

A great start to the summer!

After beginning the year with markets pricing in multiple rate cuts, a sharply accelerating labor market and energy-driven inflation have meaningfully shifted the outlook toward potential policy tightening — creating a more complex backdrop for equities and fixed income alike. Senior Economist James McCann explains what this could mean for investors in our Weekly Market Wrap.

Completed another weekend of training rides as I get closer to the Lake Huron to Lake Michigan ride at the end of this month. It’s been rewarding to see progress, setting new pace records, dialing in my fueling strategy, and finishing rides with more left in the tank.

I love what I do for a living, and the parallels to financial planning come naturally. The right pace, a clear strategy, and proper fuel all make a difference both on the bike and in a plan. If you feel like things could be better aligned, I’d welcome the opportunity to have you work with my team and me.

As investors look beyond Middle East tensions, U.S. economic fundamentals are coming into sharper focus, driven by an accelerating AI investment and robust corporate profit growth, reinforcing the constructive case for equities. However, elevated inflation may keep rate cuts off the table and limit near-term progress in bond markets.

Senior Economist James McCann explains what this could mean for investors in our Weekly Market Wrap.

Planting, biking, and spending time at the beach made for a full Memorial Day weekend. The boys and I stayed busy planting our vegetables and berries for the summer, followed by their personal best longest bike ride, and a beautiful day at the beach building a sandcastle and digging a big hole.

We are grateful for those who laid down their lives in service to our country, allowing us to enjoy weekends like this.

This Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who laid down their lives in service to our country.

I’ve been doing a good amount of long bike rides to get ready for my long gravel ride across the state of Michigan in June. My favorite rides are still the ones with these guys, watching them beat me back to the driveway, even though I get called the “rotten egg” for coming in last.
