🌬️ Windstorm Damage? Here’s What To Do Next 🌪️
If your home or property took a hit during the current windstorm, here are a few important steps to protect yourself and help the claims process go smoothly:
✅ Document the damage – Take clear photos and videos of anything that was damaged (roof, siding, fences, trees, etc.). This helps create a record for your insurance claim.
✅ Prevent further damage – If it’s safe to do so, cover broken windows, place tarps on damaged roofs, or move belongings away from exposed areas. Reach out to a local roofer to see if the damage is repairable. We can share trusted roofing specialists if you’re not sure who to call!
✅ Make a list – Write down everything that was damaged or lost so nothing gets overlooked during the claim process.
✅ Keep receipts – If you have to pay for temporary repairs or emergency services, save those receipts.
✅ Contact your insurance agent, 🚫 not your insurance company – Your agent can walk you through the claim process and help make sure you know what’s next. Get an estimate (or even 2-3!) of the damage and prevent further damage before you file a claim!!
