What is ONE thing nobody warned you about before you bought a house?

Was it…

The never-ending trips to Lowe’s? 🔨

How much curtains cost?! 😳
The fact that apparently EVERY room needs furniture?

Things that live rent-free in a mortgage lender’s brain: 🏡😂

• Did they send the bank statements?
• Please don’t buy a car.
• PLEASE don’t open a credit card.
• Where is that one missing paystub?
• Did the appraisal come back?
• Why did underwriting ask for THAT? 🤣
• Is it too early for another coffee? ☕️
• CLEAR TO CLOSE?!?! 🙌🏼

Basically, I spend all day thinking about other people’s money and houses. 😂

And somehow… I absolutely love it. ❤️🏡

Today, a new customer cried when I told her she could buy a home. ❤️

Not because I worked some kind of mortgage magic.

Not because everything in her financial life was perfect.

She cried because somewhere along the way, she had convinced herself that homeownership wasn’t an option for her.

And it was.

Y’all… this is why I tell people to just have the conversation.

You don’t have to be ready to buy tomorrow. You don’t have to have perfect credit. You don’t have to know how much you can afford or understand every step of the mortgage process.

That’s my job.

Sometimes the answer may be, “You’re ready now.”

Sometimes it may be, “We have a few things to work on first.”

But sometimes… the person who thinks they are years away finds out they are only months away.

And sometimes, like today, they find out they’re already there. 🥹🏡

Please don’t let fear, embarrassment, or something you think you know keep you from asking the question.

📚🍎 BACK-TO-SCHOOL FUN — DAY FIVE! 🎒✏️

And just like that… THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS HERE! 🥹❤️ And this one hits a little differently for me because it’s the first day of SENIOR YEAR for my baby! 😭🎓 How in the world did we get here so fast?!

One of my absolute FAVORITE things about the first day of school is opening Facebook and seeing everybody’s babies lined up on the porch with their backpacks, new shoes, fresh haircuts, and those sweet first-day smiles. 🥰📸
