Adha calls himself creative. Tech-leaning. The kind of person you'd expect to build something flashy.

Instead, he built a back-office operations business. Invoicing. Project management. The most unglamorous work he could find.

On purpose.

Underneath it is a mission he's still practicing on himself: to live with more curiosity and freedom β€” and take action even when it feels uncertain.

His story is proof that the boring thing and the meaningful thing aren't always different things. 🧡 Full story on our blog β€” link in bio.

Most businesses are built backwards.

The exit comes first β€” in the founder's head, in the deck, in the boardroom. Everything else gets arranged around it.

Five years is long enough to raise money. Short enough to avoid the really hard questions.

What we keep looking for is harder to find. A founder who hasn't figured out the ending yet. Still mid-sentence. Still discovering what they're building, and why it matters.

We're not against exits. We're against letting the exit become the point.

We've never met a generational business that was built that way.

If you had to name the problem you'd dedicate the next 20 years to β€” could you do it right now?
Not the industry. Not the job title. The actual problem.

Most people can describe their work. Fewer can point to the thing underneath it β€” the one they'd still be circling decades from now, long after the job has changed shape a few times over.

We're curious where people land on this.

Most investors ask about your market.
We ask about your childhood.

After working with founders for over a decade, we've noticed something: the things that make someone a remarkable builder β€” the drive, the blind spots, the resilience β€” rarely start with the idea. They start much earlier.
So before we work with anyone, we go through something called IFD. It's part conversation, part reflection. And it starts with questions most investors never ask.

1. What's your earliest memory?
Where did you grow up? Who was around you? What did home feel like? We ask this not because we're looking for a particular answer, but because the way someone tells this story β€” what they include, what they gloss over β€” quietly shapes everything about how they lead.
2. How do you see the world?
Everyone has a lens they look through. Most of us just haven't examined ours. We invite founders to try finishing this sentence: "I see the world as a place where..." It's a small exercise that often leads somewhere surprisingly deep.

3. What patterns have followed you through life?
Not a resume walkthrough. More like: what keeps showing up? In how you relate to people, how you make decisions, what energizes you and what quietly drains you. Most founders, when they trace it honestly, find the thread started somewhere early.

4. What kind of life are you actually trying to build?
Not just the company β€” the life. What does it mean to you, personally, if this works? We ask because the founders who last through the hard years usually have a clear, honest answer to this. And the ones who struggle often don't.

5. What was it like to sit with these questions?
We genuinely ask this at the end. Because how someone reflects on their own reflection tells us a lot β€” whether they found it useful or uncomfortable, whether they wrote what they actually think or what they thought we wanted to hear.

IFD isn't a test. There's no right answer we're looking for.
It's really just an honest conversation about who you are β€” so that if we do work together, we're building on something real.

Most founders can describe what they want to build.

Fewer can say why β€” in a way that holds up under pressure, under failure, under the slow grind of years when nothing is working.

At Reapra, we've seen it again and again: the clearer a founder is on their inner motivation, the longer they last. Not because clarity makes it easier. But because when the business breaks down β€” and it will β€” there needs to be something underneath it that doesn't.

That something isn't a vision statement. It's not a market thesis. It's a question you've sat with long enough to stop performing an answer to.

So β€” how well do you actually know why you want to build?

Most founder development programs start with the business. IFD starts earlier than that.

Intensive Foundation Design is a structured self-development process Reapra uses with the founders it works with. The premise is simple, even if the work isn't: the quality of what you build is inseparable from the quality of who you're becoming. So before strategy, before market sizing, before any of that β€” you have to understand what you're actually working from.

The process begins with uncovering your uniqueness. Not your skills or your track record, but the traits that are irreducibly yours β€” the thing that shows up regardless of context. Alongside that, it surfaces your origin bias: the early experiences and survival strategies that quietly shape how you see problems, make decisions, and relate to risk. Most of us are running on those without knowing it.

From there, IFD moves toward a Life Mission β€” a direction, not a destination. Something with a 20 to 30 year horizon. Then a Mastery Theme: the intersection of that mission and a problem the world is going to have to reckon with at a generational scale.

The process doesn't give you answers. It creates the conditions to find them. And it requires something most development frameworks try to make comfortable β€” a moment where your old ways of operating genuinely stop working. We think that's not a problem to avoid. It's the starting point.

IFD is the most foundational work we do at Reapra. Everything that follows β€” the business building, the investment, the long time horizons β€” is downstream of this.

Before the business, before the idea β€” there's usually a misconception that needs to fall apart first.

These are the four we hear most often. Not wrong because founders are naive. Wrong because nobody really tells you what it actually feels like before you're in it.
Which one took the longest to let go of?

This is the idea that everything else at Reapra follows from. It sounds simple. The implications are not. If you've ever felt the gap between who you are and what you're trying to build β€” this is the thing we keep thinking about.
