Inflation and how the average American views it?

At this point in time, the word "Inflation" has popped up more times than we can count in the past 2 years.

Using scheduled news releases such as Consumer Price Index, consumer spending etc, we can use the idea of inflation and translate it to technical ideas for trading.

However, on a socio-economic POV, rising inflation may affect citizens more drastically than you may think.

As we start the final quarter of 2021, there are still some issues that were faced at the beginning of the year but have not yet been fully resolved. One of the biggest issues being inflation.

Today we take a look at the inflationary pressures felt globally and how the major basket of commodities continue to break record highs.

(27/09/21 - 28/09/21) - XAUUSD sells.

Personally missed the opportunity to short gold but would love to showcase how the overall fundamentals matches the technical movements.

For the recent posts, it is highlighted how the economy is doing better through the eyes of the Feds; with fear exiting the market, Gold loses its value.

With the fundamental tone of the economy discussed, the technical reflection of that is Gold trading within a downwards channel.

Zooming into the H1 candle, and by applying technical analysis along with session volume and fundamental seasonality, this Gold trade would have provided a humble Risk to Reward Ratio of 1:5.7.

As we approach the final trading day of the month, be cautious of major profit taking which could cause high volatility!

As we approach the final quarter of 2021, it is good to see what's happening geopolitically. When such events happen, take note of what happens to the Dollar (DXY) from a technical analysis perspective to have a more all rounded trading approach!

As Jerome Powell took the stage for this morning's FOMC statement, his words brought about some optimism into investors hearts; hinting that asset tapering could come in November 2021.

This optimism can be reflected beautifully into technical charting. Optimism have brought strength to the dollar which is inversely correlated to Gold.

The first sell position on XAUUSD (Gold) was executed by cleanly while I tagged along Asians volume for a short intra session trade.

Having a fundamental edge is equally as important as having a technical one, creating a trade with good confluences!

On this week's fundamental outlook, we have 2 key events to take note; Initial Jobless Claims & Fed's Speech.

In this post, we would dwell further into the expectations of both events happening this Thursday night and Friday Morning. Given the recent discouraging labor market numbers, we safely assume that this is not according to the Fed's economy recovery goal. Hence any hopes to bring forward tapering would be diminished.

Another geopolitical event that may contribute to the delay of tapering is if the Biden Infrastructure Bill is fully approved and passed. The labor market and the bill could be the major backdrop for the final quarter of 2021.

With that being said, have an enjoyable trading month of September!
