Saxo celebrates 20 Years in Singapore - Our Saxo Story – Jermaine Wong, Finance Manager.

Celebrating our 20th anniversary in is already a huge milestone — but having people who have been part of this journey for almost as long is what makes it truly meaningful.

Jermaine Wong joined Saxo in 2010 as a contract staff. Today, she plays a key role as a Finance Manager. In this video, Jermaine shares her experience working in Saxo for over a decade. She reflects on the things she's learned and why she believes in Saxo's vision.

Her journey highlights something we value deeply at Saxo: resilience, curiosity, and a steady commitment to keep moving forward as the world changes.

Our 20-year story in Singapore isn’t just about being one of the first online brokerages to set up here. It’s also about the people who shaped this place day by day — the ones who stayed through transitions and helped us build a company grounded in trust and integrity.

As we mark this milestone, we want to recognise the individuals who made these two decades possible. Thank you for being part of our journey — and here’s to the next chapter together.

Can you tell AI from real life? Didn’t think so.

As technology advances, the line between real and artificial becomes increasingly blurred. That makes it easier than ever for cybercriminals to trick us with convincing phishing emails, fake websites, or AI-generated content.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month which a reminder that staying safe online requires constant vigilance.

At Saxo, the safety of our clients is our top priority, but protecting yourself also starts with good digital habits such as:

-Think twice before you click
-Verify with the source before sharing sensitive information
-Use strong authentication and never reuse passwords.

In a world where even the sharpest eyes can be fooled, awareness is your first line of defense.

Stay safe. Stay alert.

Don't let market chaos dictate your investment strategy📊

Navigating through volatile markets as an investor can be unsettling, but emotions like panic selling, overtrading, and chasing excessive safety often lead to poor outcomes. Therefore, it's important for investors to remain focused on their long-term strategies and avoid impulsive decisions.

To help investors navigate market downturns, we have compiled an Investor FAQ that addresses the most common concerns: Should I sell? Are we at the bottom yet? What could be the signs of a turnaround? How do I know when it’s time to buy again?

Stay rational, and read more here https://www.home.saxo/en-sg/content/articles/macro/investor-faq-navigating-the-market-downturn-12032025?utm_campaign=feed&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=later-linkinbio

🌟 February's stock picks: AI rotation, China’s comeback and quantum losing steam 🌟

China's Tech Stocks Are Back – Alibaba, Tencent, and Xiaomi saw a massive surge in trading activity, as investors rotated back into Chinese equities after months of selling. DeepSeek’s rise, Alibaba’s partnership with Apple, and better-than-expected earnings fueled the comeback.

AI Growth Is Moving to Infrastructure – Super Micro Computer (SMCI) became the breakout winner, surging 293% in trading volume as investors shifted their focus from Nvidia and AI chips to AI server hardware and cloud infrastructure.

Tesla Crashed, and Speculative Stocks Are Losing Steam – Tesla’s 28% drop was one of the biggest shocks of the month, reflecting concerns over slowing EV demand and intensifying competition. Meanwhile, quantum computing and clean energy stocks lost momentum, suggesting a shift away from speculative high-growth bets amid economic and geopolitical uncertainties.

Beyond the Magnificent 7️⃣ : Finding the next big tech plays in China 👨‍💻

▶️ China’s alternatives to US tech: With Beijing supporting key tech industries and market valuations more attractive than U.S. counterparts, China’s tech plays could be an alternative for investors seeking long-term growth beyond the dominant U.S. giants.

▶️ Key sectors: Easing regulatory stance on tech innovation offers diverse opportunities beyond the Magnificent 7, particularly in AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity, and EVs.

▶️ E-commerce and consumer tech growth: Despite economic challenges, China's e-commerce giants like JD.com, Pinduoduo, and Meituan continue to dominate, with innovations in live-streaming and social commerce driving growth.

💰 Singapore’s Bumper Budget: Here are the big winners 🏆 and stocks to watch

⬆️ Singapore election-year budget is pro-growth, pro-innovation and pro-spending, offering plenty of opportunities for long-term investors in key strategic sectors.
➡️ Business-friendly policies, tax rebates and household support measures are likely to drive lending growth, property demand and increased consumer spending.
⬆️Major investments in semiconductors and AI signal long-term opportunities in advanced manufacturing, automation, and digital infrastructure.
➡️Investors should, however, remain cautious of external risks and global economic uncertainty. Short-term consumer spending boosts could fade quickly, while regional trade headwinds could impact key sectors like semiconductors.

❤️ Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! ❤️

Here's a little poem from our Global Head of Investment Strategy, Jacob Hvidberg Falkencrone. 😊

🌹 Roses are red, violets are blue,
Loving your stocks? That’s risky for you.🌹

💰 They once made you rich, they soared to the sky,
But now they have fallen—don’t ask yourself why. 💰

📊 A great company’s nice, but profits must grow,
If numbers look shaky, it’s your cue to go. 📊

💹 Diversify wisely, don’t marry one name,
Or market downturns will bring you the pain. 💹

💰 Trump Tariffs 2.0: Investing Themes for a More Protectionist World

Broadening Tariff Measures: Trump has threatened 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from all countries, and ‘reciprocal’ tariff measures are expected to be announced this week. These expanding trade actions beyond previous threats to Canada, Mexico, and China are leading to potential new import restrictions and retaliation, signaling more bouts of volatility for investors.

Multiple Purposes of Tariffs: Tariffs are being used not just to tax imports but also as tools for national security, economic leverage, and revenue generation, indicating a shift towards long-term economic policy rather than short-term trade disputes.

Investing in Self-Sufficiency: The trend towards protectionism and self-sufficiency suggests a structural shift in the economy, requiring investors to adapt their strategies to focus on domestic manufacturing, energy independence, defense, and cybersecurity, as well as managing inflation and cost pressures.

🌟 AI Wars, Nuclear Bets, and the Big Tech Shake-Up: What Saxo Singapore Clients Traded in January 🌟

AI Shake-Up: Nvidia Faces New Threats – Nvidia fell -10.6% as investors locked in gains and China’s DeepSeek AI emerged as a major competitor, offering comparable AI performance at lower costs. Meanwhile, TSMC and ASML proved resilient, benefiting from continued AI chip demand.

Big Bets on Nuclear Energy and Space – Oklo surged 96.0% as investors bet on nuclear energy as the next big clean power source, while Intuitive Machines jumped 31.1% on new NASA contracts, fueling excitement around private space exploration.

Tech Rotation and Dividend Safety Plays – While SoundHound AI and Rigetti Computing plunged, investors shifted focus to AI infrastructure plays like Oracle and Arm Holdings, driven by Trump’s Stargate AI initiative. Meanwhile, Singapore’s DBS saw rising investor interest, reinforcing demand for dividend-paying stocks amid market volatility.
