“May insurance naman ako sa work, so okay na ako.

Yes, having insurance through your employer is definitely a benefit — pero importanteng malaman kung hanggang saan ang protection mo.

Many workplace insurance benefits are connected to your employment. So magandang itanong:

👉 Magkano talaga ang Life Cover ko?
👉 May Trauma/Critical Illness Cover ba?
👉 May Income Protection or Disability benefit ba?
👉 Most importantly — **what happens to my insurance kapag umalis ako sa company, nag-change career, na-redundant, or hindi na ako eligible?

Remember, your job can change several times throughout your working life.

Your family responsibilities? They can continue for decades. ❤️

Employer insurance can be a great additional layer of protection, but don't automatically assume na enough na siya for your mortgage, debts, income, kids, and long-term family needs.

Know what you have. Know the limitations. And check kung may protection gap.

Insurance through work is a benefit.
Personal insurance is protection that you control.

Before getting additional cover, review what you already have first — baka covered ka na, baka may gap, or baka kailangan lang i-adjust ang protection mo.

❌ May pre-existing medical condition

Did you know? You may still have a Life Cover option.

May Life Cover na may guaranteed acceptance for eligible NZ residents aged 18–65, with no medical tests or health questions required, at maaaring kumuha ng cover from $50,000 up to $300,000.

❤️ Bakit importante ang Life Cover?

If something happens to you, Life Cover can provide a lump-sum payment to help financially protect the family you leave behind. It can also pay the full benefit if you're diagnosed with a qualifying terminal illness.

⚠️ Pero paano kung mamatay within the first 24 months?

Importanteng maintindihan ito.

👉Accidental death — covered, subject to policy terms and exclusions.

👉 New medical condition na nagsimula after your policy started — covered.

👉 Pre-existing medical condition — if the death or terminal illness is caused by a condition you already had before the policy started, the benefit will not be paid within the first 24 months.

After 24 months, full cover applies to both new and pre-existing medical conditions, unless may specific permanent exclusion.

You may still have an option to protect the people you love. ❤️

For employees, you can choose from different contribution rates such as **3%, 4%, 6%, 8%, or 10% of your salary/wages.**

✅ **Start with what you can afford.** Huwag pilitin kung magiging tight ang weekly budget.

✅ **Try to contribute enough to maximise the annual Government Contribution**, if eligible ka.

✅ **Pag tumaas ang income mo, consider increasing your contribution.** Kahit maliit na increase ngayon, puwedeng magkaroon ng malaking difference over the long term.

📈 Remember, **KiwiSaver is a long-term investment.** The earlier you start and the more consistent you are, the more time your money has to potentially grow.

*General information only. KiwiSaver is an investment and returns are not guaranteed.*

Ang **second policy owner**—usually asawa or partner—can be very important kapag may unexpected na mangyari.

💰 **One important reason:**
Depending on how the policy is structured and the insurer's rules, **if the insured/first policy owner passes away, the surviving second policy owner can generally receive the Life Cover proceeds directly as the remaining policy owner**, rather than the payment having to go through the deceased person's estate.

This can make a big difference for the family—especially when the money is needed for the **mortgage, bills, funeral costs, and everyday living expenses.**

Simple way to remember:

⚠️ **But remember:** Hindi automatic na joint ownership is the best setup for everyone. The right ownership structure depends on your circumstances and the insurer's policy terms.

**Insurance is not just about HOW MUCH cover you have.
It’s also about WHO receives it and HOW your policy is structured.**

If hindi ka sure, message us. Let's review your policy ownership and make sure your cover is structured the way you intended for your family. ❤️

🏡 Gusto Mo Magka-First Home? Start with KiwiSaver!

Happy to explain your options!

DOES INSURANCE REALLY WORK? 🤔

The short answer is YES — when the right cover is in place.

Recently, one of our clients received a Trauma Insurance payout, and only a few months later qualified for a Life Insurance Terminal Illness Benefit after their health condition significantly worsened.

💙 The insurance payout helped provide:
✅ Financial support during a difficult time
✅ Funds for treatment and everyday expenses
✅ Peace of mind for the family
✅ The ability to focus on health rather than money

Many people think insurance is only something you pay for and never use. The reality is that insurance is there for the moments you hope never happen.

No one expects to suffer a major illness, but when life takes an unexpected turn, having the right cover can make a significant difference.

Every claim is assessed based on the policy terms and medical evidence, but this is a real example of how insurance can provide support when it matters most.

📞 If you're unsure whether your current cover is enough, or you would like a review of your insurance, feel free to reach out to the team at Peak Financial Services.

Insurance isn't about expecting the worst. It's about being prepared for the unexpected.
