It’s almost time to celebrate all things credit unions and co-operatives!

This year, we’re celebrating Credit Union Day on October 15 and Co-op Week from October 11 to 17.

It’s a moment to get excited about all the amazing reasons to be part of a credit union!

Like how Affinity is member-owned and you get a say in how your credit union is run. Or how your money stays right in Saskatchewan and gets reinvested back into your local community.

Each year, we jump at the opportunity to focus on you, our members. And this year, we’re going all out!

Stay tuned for announcements about our Member Perks, gift baskets and two special evening events (one in Saskatoon and one in Regina).

🔒Stay one step ahead of scammers this Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

Fraud tactics are getting more convincing, from urgent payment requests and fake refunds to AI-generated emails, texts and even voice scams.

The good news? A few simple habits can help keep you protected.

Remember: A familiar name, voice or logo doesn't guarantee a message is legitimate. When in doubt, pause and confirm through a trusted contact method.

Your best defense against fraud is taking a moment to think before you act!

Today, we close our doors to honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Also known as Orange Shirt Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day to honour the Indigenous children who attended residential schools, as well as their families and their communities. It is a time to acknowledge and learn the truth about residential schools and the ongoing impacts they continue to have.
The theme for 2026, Taking Truth to Action, calls on us all to take action by attending events, exploring resources or taking time to learn from Indigenous voices and perspectives.

No matter how you choose to get involved, today we commit to reflecting, listening and learning.

About the artist: Art by J.Wapiskisiw is a plains Cree artist from Treaty 6 territory in Saskatchewan. He began his artistic journey in late 2021, starting with graffiti art. Today, he blends the bold, expressive style of graffiti with the rich traditional storytelling rooted in his Indigenous heritage. His work features vibrant colours, elements of nature and narratives deeply connected to his worldview and teachings.

In this piece titled Truth & Recognition the feather represents unity within all of us and recognizes the First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples across Turtle Island.
