We explored innovative ideas and built lasting relationships across the mutual system. Everyone left feeling motivated and ready to embrace future challenges in the evolving insurance landscape.

Long before big corporations dominated the industry, Ontario's local communities and family farms realized they were stronger when they worked together. Here's a snapshot of how the was built from the ground up:

🔹 1850s | The Grassroots Beginnings
Faced with high costs and a lack of support from distant city corporations, local Ontario farmers took matters into their own hands. They pioneered a neighbour-helping-neighbour model of risk-sharing, laying the foundation for true community-supported insurance.

🔹 1882 | Standing Together
Local, independent mutuals across the province formally united to share knowledge and aggregate structural data. This collective network ensured that small, rural communities would always have the institutional backing to handle larger economic shifts.

🔹 1959 | The Financial Safety Net
To add a layer of security for local policyholders, the network established a specialized, local reinsurance system. This milestone guaranteed that even during major widespread storms, every single member company remained financially secure.

🔹 Today | $5.2 Million Back to Our Communities
What started in 19th-century farmhouses has grown into a powerful network of over 34 independent mutual companies! In 2025 alone, our member-owned structure proudly gave back over $5.2 million to support 975+ local community organizations.
