It's nearly go time!

Just 10 minutes until we throw open the doors for the 2026 Lunch for the Stars in support of Grow a Star, a program created and proudly supported by Home in Place.

We're looking forward to hearing from our special guest speaker, Myf Warhurst, and celebrating some of the incredible young people whose lives are being changed through Grow a Star scholarships.

Events like this simply wouldn't be possible without the support of our sponsors and the many businesses and individuals who have generously donated raffle and auction prizes.

In addition to our raffle, guests will also have the chance to bid in our live auction and watch acclaimed artist Joey Davis create a painting live during the event. The finished artwork will then be auctioned, with proceeds supporting Grow a Star.

Young Gums 2026 hit all the right notes 🎵

Across six days at Dashville, young musicians came together to learn, rehearse, write, perform and connect with others who share their love of music.

For many participants, the experience was about more than the final performance. It was about confidence, friendship and being surrounded by mentors who believed in them.

One participant said the best part was “meeting other people who have similar interests to me and gaining confidence with playing music in a group of new people.”

A parent described the experience as “all heart”, adding that the generosity of the mentors was amazing and the kids were inspired.

Programs like Young Gums show how powerful opportunity can be when young people are given the chance to explore their talents in a supportive environment.

This event raises vital funds for Grow a Star, helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access scholarships, mentoring and opportunities in education, sport, the arts and personal development.

We're so glad to see our Grow a Star NZ Back to School Blitz recipients enjoying their new equipment!

Eight-year-old Evie is back in the pool and training for triathlons with confidence, thanks to support from the Grow A Star NZ Back to School Blitz!

Through the campaign, Evie received new swimming goggles, sports shoes and swimwear to help her keep doing what she loves.

Applications are now open for the Grow A Star Homework Club on the Central Coast!

This program supports students with tutoring and help with schoolwork in a safe, quiet learning environment, with guidance from a qualified tutor and afternoon tea provided.

📍The Meeting Place, 1 Northmberland Way, Tumbi Umbi
🕒 Tuesdays, 3:30pm – 5:00pm during school term
👥 Six spots per term!

Eligibility:
• Students currently in Year 5 or Year 6
• Demonstrate why support is needed and how the program will help
• Have a good school attendance record

The program is designed to help students build confidence, stay focused on their learning, and make the most of the opportunities ahead.
