Our snake catcher Kingston was called to Runaway Bay, where this coastal carpet python had squeezed into a power network control cabinet, weaving through the cables inside.

Kingston carefully worked it free and relocated it to bushland.

This Halloween decoration was a little too real! 🎃🐍
The residents of a home in Highland Park got a fright when they found this coastal carpet python inside, right next to the fireplace.
Our snake catcher Sean caught it safely and relocated it to bushland. Carpet pythons are excellent climbers, using their muscular bodies and a strong grip to balance along branches.
Carpet pythons are non-venomous, but if one turns up inside your home, keep pets and kids away and give us a call.

Not your usual pool cleaner! 🦎💦

Our catcher Alex was called to a home in Bellbird Park, where this eastern water dragon was sitting at the bottom of the backyard pool.

Water dragons are strong swimmers. They use their long, flattened tails to push through the water, and when they feel threatened they often dive and stay under for a long time. Pool chemicals aren’t good for them, though, so Alex safely fished this one out and released it near natural water where it belongs.

Water dragons are harmless and common around creeks, parks and backyards in South East Queensland. If one gets stuck in your pool, or turns up somewhere it can’t get out of, give us a call.

How long do you reckon this one is? 📏🐍

Coastal carpet pythons are commonly 2 to 2.5 metres long, and the big ones can stretch past 3 metres. That puts them alongside some of the larger snake species in Astralia!

This impressive python was relocated from Pullenvale by our snake catcher Drew.

🐍 A true survivor! 🐍
Luke was called out to Virginia to remove a coastal carpet python that had made itself at home under the bonnet of a car.
On closer inspection, this python had a significant old injury (or possibly a deformity from when it was young) on one side of its face. The good news? It’s long since healed. The snake was alert, flicking its tongue normally and moving well, so it was safely released back into suitable habitat.
Despite whatever it went through, this python has adapted and is getting on with life 💪

Not what you expect to find in your bedroom drawer! 😳

This eastern brown snake had tucked itself into a bedroom drawer at a home in Hope Island. Eastern browns are one of the most venomous snakes in the world, so the homeowner did exactly the right thing: they shut the door, kept everyone out and called us.

Our snake catcher Sean had it safely bagged and relocated, and the bedroom is back to being a snake-free zone.

Snakes come inside looking for somewhere dark, quiet and cool, and a drawer ticks every box. If you find one in the house, close the door to that room, put a towel along the gap underneath and call.

Check under the bonnet! 🚗🐍

This coastal carpet python found a quiet spot to shed its skin in the engine bay of a car in Coomera. Snakes look for tight, secure hiding places when they’re about to shed. Engines are dark and full of tight spaces, so pythons climb into them more often than you'd think as a temporary refuge.

It didn't make things easy either, moving from the engine into the wheel arch before our snake catcher Sean got it out safely and relocated it. The car is back on the road.

If you find one in your car, don't drive off and don't try to pull it out yourself, because it can move deeper into the engine or bodywork. Leave the car where it is and give us a call.

Look along the jaw of this carpet python from Witheren. These sensory pits act like a natural thermal camera, allowing pythons to "see" radiant heat in complete darkness. This allows the python to find warm-blooded prey like rats and possums.
