Insurance has its own language - but understanding your cover shouldn't require a dictionary. 📖
So, what exactly is an excess?
Put simply, an excess is the amount you may need to contribute towards a claim before your insurer pays the remaining eligible amount, subject to the terms of your policy.
But not every excess works exactly the same way.
A policy may have different excesses depending on the type of claim, the circumstances or the cover you've selected. That's why it's worth understanding not only what you're covered for, but also what you may need to pay if you ever need to use that cover.
And if the wording in your insurance documents has you scratching your head?

At SB Protect, we're here to help make insurance easier to understand.
