🎉 A Huge Thank You to Community Bank Acacia Ridge!

We are so excited to share some wonderful news! Chrome Street Fiesta Inc. has been generously supported by the Community Bank Acacia Ridge, part of Bendigo Bank, for our Youth Mentoring Program, which is assisting us to involve young people in the organisation of our events. In fact, our very own Clare Apelt had a fantastic meeting with their team recently to discuss how they can get involved even more this year!

This incredible support is all thanks to Community Bank Acacia Ridge's unique 'profit-with-purpose' model. Unlike other banks, they reinvest their profits right back into the local community that generates them. This means that by choosing to bank with them, you're directly helping to fund local organisations and events, just like ours!

We've seen firsthand the tangible difference Community Bank Acacia Ridge makes, and we encourage our community to consider banking with them. Not only do you get great service, but you also contribute to a stronger, more vibrant local area.

Community support in action! 💪🎨

Over the weekend, our wonderful team members Yuvika, Jordan, and Meimi took time out of their busy schedules to roll up their sleeves and volunteer with the amazing crew at Volunteer Connect

They got right into the hands-on work, painting bollards at the Youth Community Service Day to help make a for our local area.

Volunteer Connect is an incredible local not-for-profit that exists simply to give back, assist locals in need, foster friendships, and stare down social isolation. We absolutely love their approach; they don't do endless meetings; they'd rather host a BBQ to get the community together! 🌭🤝

At Community Bank Acacia Ridge, we are incredibly proud to financially support Volunteer Connect. But we also know that true support means showing up and getting involved on the ground alongside them.

This is what Bendigo Bank’s unique ‘Profit with Purpose’ model looks like in real life. 🏦💚

We are absolutely thrilled to support The Murri School with their fantastic new ‘Read, Thrive & Grow’ program! 📚✨

In partnership with our friends at The Book Garden, Community Bank Acacia Ridge is helping Prep and Year One students build their very own home libraries. Each month, these young learners will take home a brand-new book, fostering a lifelong love of reading, imagination, and learning.

At Community Bank Acacia Ridge, investing in our local youth is at the heart of what we do. This initiative is a perfect example of Bendigo Bank’s Profit with Purpose model in action. When you bank with us, profits are poured directly back into supporting the community we all share. You can read more about our community impact here: bendigobank.com.au/community

A Story of Hope, Fresh Apples, and the Power of Community 🍎🏡

Imagine for a moment that your home is a caravan parked on the side of a busy road. You are constantly moving, the economic climate is harsh, and the simple comfort of a fresh, healthy meal feels entirely out of reach. For some members of our local community, this isn't just a story, it’s everyday life.

The incredible team at Inala Community House sees this reality every single day through their Hearts and Hunger project. They work tirelessly to feed vulnerable families, single parents, and those sleeping rough in their cars. But recently, they ran into a heartbreaking problem: people were hungry, donations were coming in, but without proper storage, precious fresh fruit and vegetables were spoiling and going to waste. Furthermore, they had no safe place to store sensitive "dignity bags" and personal hygiene items for those who had lost everything.

They needed a lifeline, and because of the way our community chooses to bank, we were able to step in and help write the next chapter.

Through a sponsorship from Community Bank Acacia Ridge, that struggling space has been completely transformed. If you walk into their pantry today, you won't see waste. Instead, you'll see six massive storage shelves neatly packed with essential pantry items. You'll hear the hum of a brand-new 466-litre fridge, keeping perishable fruits and vegetables crisp and fresh for much longer. Tucked away safely are five lockable cabinets, ensuring that sensitive personal hygiene gifts are stored with the privacy and respect people deserve.

Because of this simple infrastructure, the cupboards are organized, the food stays fresh, and the people walking through those doors feel seen and supported.

But the real impact isn't in the shelving or the fridge, it's in the people. It's in the words of Miss B, who lives on the side of the road in her caravan, she told the team: "I don't know what we would do without your support. You give us hope that all is good in the world."

When we say we are a Community Bank, this is the story we are telling. Every account opened, every home loan written, and every conversation we have helps fund these exact moments of hope. You aren't just banking; you are keeping that fridge full for people just like Miss B.

Want to be part of a bank that writes stories like this in your own backyard? We would love to chat with you.
