Hi y’all doing? Just kidding, I have not picked up that phrase yet.
I wanted to send a quick note with some important updates:
June 2025 was the end of my 20th year with New York Life, and over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how I want the next 20 years to look for my personal life and my business—not just about how I want it to grow, but more importantly, about how I can do a better job taking care of the people who have trusted me with their financial lives.
That thinking has led to some changes that many of you have probably already started to notice with the move to South Carolina for my family, but also eMoney and today I’m excited to officially introduce High Tide Financial.
High Tide Financial is more than a new name or logo. For me, it represents the direction I want my practice to take and the experience I want each of my clients to have going forward.
1. What isn't changing
While the name and some of the ways I run my practice are changing, the most important part is:
I will still be with New York Life and Eagle Strategies.
I'm still the person you can call when you have a question, when something changes, when you're considering a major financial decision—or when you simply want to talk something through.
High Tide Financial is really about giving me better tools, better processes and more support so I can do that job better.
2. A greater focus on planning
One of the first steps I took was adding eMoney to my practice. I did that because I want our conversations to go beyond individual products, insurance policies or retirement accounts. I want us looking at the bigger picture.
Your investments. Your retirement. Your income needs. Your insurance. Your estate. Your family. Your goals.
Most importantly, I wanted to be able show and explain to each of you the bigger picture, so that you understand how all of those pieces fit together. You may have already noticed this shift in some of our recent meetings. Going forward, you’ll see even more of it. I want our reviews to be centered around financial planning and your entire financial picture—not simply the products or accounts that I may personally manage for you.
3. Making sure every client is taken care of
I've also spent a lot of time thinking about something else:
How do I make sure every client gets the attention and service they deserve?
As my practice has grown, I've realized that I can't—and shouldn't—try to do every part of the job myself. The last few years I have come to this realization and I can't let it continue going forward.
That's why I'll be adding someone to my team who will help with service and administrative work.
Having that additional support will allow me to spend less time handling paperwork and service requests and more time doing the things I believe you actually need me for—meeting with you, reviewing your plan, answering questions, helping you make decisions and being there when something changes in your life.
I'm also going to have another agent helping me stay in touch with clients throughout the year.
You may occasionally receive a call or email from them to check in, help schedule a review or simply make sure we haven't missed an opportunity to connect.
I don't want a year to go by without us talking simply because life got busy.
4. Why "High Tide"?
I wanted the name of the practice to represent what I'm ultimately trying to help people accomplish.
That's what High Tide Financial represents to me.
Long Term, I want to build a practice that hopefully one or more of my children take over and with myself, continuing to work with you and your families for a long time.
5. Looking ahead
I'm incredibly grateful for the trust you've placed in me over the years. Many of you have been with me for a long time, and I don't take that trust for granted.
I'm excited about this next chapter, and I'm even more excited about what I believe it will allow me to do for you and your family in the years ahead.
Thank you, as always, for allowing me to be a part of your financial life.
