Memorial Day hits different the older I get.
As I’ve gotten older, built a business, bought a home, watched friends raise families, and experienced more of life… I think more and more about the people who made those freedoms possible in the first place.
I have family members who served our country. I have friends who still put the uniform on today. And while most of us spend today around the people we love, grilling, golfing, at the lake, or just slowing down for a day off… the reason we even get to enjoy those moments is because somebody else was willing to sacrifice everything for them.
That perspective matters.
Today isn’t just another holiday or long weekend. It’s a reminder that freedom was paid for by real people with real families, real dreams, and real lives.
So today, I’m grateful. Grateful for those who served. Grateful for those still serving. And especially grateful for those who never made it home.
