Enjoy reduced payments with a rate buydown!

More and more people are lowering their interest rates through rate buydowns. Wondering what it's all about and if it's right for you? Here's the scoop:

A buydown lowers your interest rate by paying discount points at closing. These are one-time, upfront fees.

Each point costs 1% of the mortgage amount. For example, one point on a $350,000 loan would be $3,500.

Each point reduces the interest rate by 0.25%. So, one point could take your rate from 7% to 6.75%.

You can often negotiate for the seller or builder to pay the discount points for you!
