The Loper Elementary time capsule was a wonderful tribute to the Bicentennial of the United States of America. A great deal of hard work and preparation by Joan Gardner and her then 6th grade students. Blue River Career Programs students also assisted by planning and constructing the actual time capsule. A lot of great photos and memories in this album. Please share your memories if you were one of the 6th grade students, another grade student, parent, teacher, sibling or someone who watched this project grow!
I, personally, was a 1st grader in Miss Pauline Jones class,
Diane Miller Zachary was a student teacher at the time. My cat-eye marbles are in this time capsule. My brother, who was one of the 6th grade students in Mrs. Gardner's class, thought it was a good idea to donate my favorite marbles to the cause. Not that I'm bitter about it or anything ๐
It was a very blustery day when this was buried in May, but our Shelby County community supported this endeavor - and it holds great memories for many, many people in our community.
