Winning a spot at the table takes more than luck.

This month, Tom hosted breakfast with the College Financial Representatives who earned it - top performers in our Summer Factfinder contest. Congratulations to Dominic Martinez, Matt Merino, Chase Sterling, Jaxson Balfour, Koudai Fukuda, Alexandra Otazua, and Jonalynn Tolentino for putting in the work that got them there. A shoutout as well to Angela Hughes and Arly Ortega, who also won in their respective classes but couldn’t make it to breakfast.

The celebration also made its way to Portland, where Clayton Cooper from our Vancouver, WA office joined to mark the same achievement.

Recognizing effort early is one of the best investments this organization makes in the next generation of this profession.

Some of the most important work we do happens outside the office.

Our team set out to raise $2,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project’s Carry Forward 5K in San Diego - and raised $2,452. Nearly 30 of us showed up to support wounded veterans and their families, lacing up alongside a citywide turnout of about 2,500 participants in the event’s best-attended year yet. San Diego Mayor Gloria even joined in, saying a few words before running the 5K with the crowd.

Overall, the event raised more than $230,000 - funding that goes directly toward the career counseling, mental health resources, and long-term care that help warriors move forward in their next chapter.

Courage shows up differently for everyone. For Vanessa Harvey, it looked like advocating for others before she’d even settled into her own role.

Congratulations to Vanessa, winner of this quarter’s Core Values Award for Courage. Despite being new to the organization, she’s stepped into her role with initiative and a positive attitude, advocating for new FPA advisors and helping shape a stronger onboarding experience along the way.

We’re also proud to recognize this quarter’s nominees for embodying the same standard: Ben Morr, Ryan Reynolds, Katie Castle, and Megan Cristal.

Development doesn’t look the same at every stage of a career - and that’s exactly the point.

This month’s Quarterly Development Day brought our organization together across San Diego and Portland with programming built for every level of experience: the Accelerator Series for our newest advisors led by Nisu Patel and Michelle Dahm, Advisor 2.0 for those building early momentum with Daniel Shahmoradian, Ascend for advisors scaling their practice, and Best of the Best for our top performers. The Career Advisor Town Hall rounded out the day with updates on succession planning, operations, and AI, along with a session on building a lives leader practice led by Chantel Bonneau Stewart and Lara Ryan.

We were also fortunate to have Nisu Patel, Founder of Mynt Wealth Management, share his perspective on repeatable processes and consistent results - a fitting theme for a day built entirely around growth at every stage.

Oregon paused for lunch along the way, and San Diego closed things out at happy hour - a good reminder that this kind of connection matters just as much as the development itself.

For the second consecutive year, our organization has earned a spot on WayUp’s Top 100 Internship Programs list. Repeat recognition is rare in this ranking. Roughly 62% of companies don’t return to the list after their first appearance, which makes this back-to-back honor a real reflection of the program our team has built.

I’m proud to announce that three advisors in our Network have been named to the 2026 Forbes Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisor Best-In-State lists! These lists, published by Forbes and SHOOK Research, recognize the top Advisors in each state under the age of 40.
