Today, I’m reminded why peacebuilding and humanitarian work are so close to my heart.
Through my work with the United Nations, my humanitarian journey, and my book Voices of Peace, I’ve had the privilege of hearing stories that remind me that peace begins with listening, understanding, and giving people a voice.

Family isn’t always as simple as a family tree.

Sometimes it’s the people who raised you.
Sometimes it’s the people you were born to.
Sometimes it’s the people you choose.

Meeting my birth family reminded me just how powerful it can be to understand where we come from.

It also reinforces why I believe so strongly in protecting the people we love esp during life insurance awareness month.

Because life is unpredictable. Love doesn’t have to be. ❤️
