📈 Mortgage Market Update | What’s Happening With Rates?

If you’ve been wondering why mortgage rates haven’t dropped as much as everyone hoped, here’s the quick version:

• Inflation is still a concern. The Federal Reserve wants to see more progress before becoming comfortable lowering rates.

• Mortgage rates are still being pressured by the bond market. Even though the Fed gets most of the attention, mortgage rates are influenced more directly by what’s happening with longer-term bonds.

• The economy is slowing, but it’s not falling apart. Job growth has cooled and consumers are feeling higher costs, but the job market is still relatively stable.

• Friday’s jobs report could be important. The market will be watching closely to see whether the economy is cooling enough to give the Fed more room to lower rates.

🏠 So what does this mean if you’re buying a home?

Right now, there isn't a clear signal that mortgage rates are about to make a major drop.

That doesn’t necessarily mean you should wait.

If you find the right home and the payment fits your budget, there are strategies available today. And if rates improve significantly in the future, refinancing may be an option.

The biggest takeaway?

Don’t make your home-buying decision based solely on trying to perfectly time mortgage rates.

I’ve officially hit my five year anniversary as a Loan Officer.

Five years ago I graduated college, stepped into the “real world,” and took a leap into an industry that was completely unknown to me. Like most people starting their careers, I had no idea what the future would hold.

Looking back now, I see countless late nights, working weekends, networking events, and a whole lot of learning. Every bit of it has been worth it.

This past month I was honored to be one of the top producers in my company, but more than anything, it’s a reminder of how faithful God has been.

He has blessed me with a career I truly love, an incredible wife who supports me every step of the way, an amazing family, great friends, mentors, referral partners, and clients who trust me during one of the biggest moments of their lives.

Five years later, I can honestly say I’m just as excited every time I get to help someone buy a home as I was when I started.

To everyone who has supported, encouraged, referred, and trusted me, thank you!!

I’m incredibly grateful for the last five years, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store
